We, Growth Technologies Sea Pte., Ltd (“Growth Tech” or
“We”) commits to respect the
privacy rights of all visitors/users to our Zipped News Platform (including zipped.news
and mobile apps). Through our Zipped News Platform, the Company allows users to
subscribe to journalistic content as detailed in Terms of Services
("Services"). Your
privacy is important to us, and we aim for our Services to be a safe and enjoyable
environment for our audience. We respect and safeguard the personally identifiable
information we receive and collect from you on Zipped News Platform and in the course of
our other interactions online. We work in partnership with our hosting providers and
make every effort to ensure that databases are protected as effectively as possible from
unauthorised access, loss, misuse, and fraud. We would like to point out that the online
transmission of data (such as via email) may be exposed to security gaps.
This Privacy Policy ("Policy") is only applicable to the users of
Zipped News Platform,
and the information and data gathered therefrom and not to any other information or
website. You are hereby requested to read this Policy carefully and fully understand the
nature and purpose of gathering and/or collecting sensitive, personal, and other data
and the usage, disclosure and sharing of such information. By using Services, you
consent to the collection, processing and use of your data as described below. You
hereby also consent to Growth Tech to share information with third party service
providers engaged by us in relation to its operations and to the transfer and/or storage
of personal data and data across borders. Any glossaries that are not defined herein
will have the meaning ascribed to them in the Company's Terms of Services
(“ToS”).
2. Collection of Information
2.1 Personal data
a) Personal information is all information relating to an identified or
identifiable person and that is not otherwise publicly available, including
but not limited to first and last name, email address, hobbies, interest
topics.
b) Information collected: Information that we collect from you may include
your personal information. In addition, we may collect demographic
information such as information about your computer, location (through GPS),
hardware, software, platform, Internet Protocol (IP) address and connection,
information about online activity such as feature usage and click paths, and
other data that you may provide in surveys or online profiles (“Other
data”). We may combine demographic information with personal

tailor our offerings or web pages, including advertising subject matter, to
your preferences or interests.

2.2 Most information will be collected when you use Zipped News
Platform or when
you use the Services. However, we may also use various technologies on the Zipped
News Platform which may lead to information being collected automatically by us or
from other sources such as advertising, sub-contractors in technical and payment
services, analytics providers, search information providers and mailing lists. This
information does not generally, but may, contain your Personal data. In particular,
information is likely to be collected including web beacons, web analytics and/or
cookies.
3. Processing of Personal data
3.1 Processing includes any handling of personal data, regardless of
the means and process used, in particular, storage, notification, acquisition,
collection, deletion, saving, amending, destruction and use of Personal data.
3.2 As there are many circumstances in which we may collect
information, we will endeavour to ensure that you are always aware of the information
being collected. We generally do not collect your Personal data unless: a) it is
provided to us voluntarily by you directly or via a third party who has been duly
authorised by you to disclose your Personal data to us (your “authorised
representative”) after: (i) you (or your authorised representative) have
been notified
of the purposes for which the data is collected, and (ii) you (or your authorised
representative) have provided consent to the collection and usage of your Personal data
for those purposes, or b) collection and use of Personal data without consent is
permitted or required by the PDPA or other laws. We shall seek your consent before
collecting any additional Personal data and before using your Personal data for a
purpose which has not been notified to you (except where permitted or authorised by
law).
3.3 We may collect and use your Personal data for any or all of the
following purposes:
a) performing our provision of the Services as requested by you; any other
purposes for which you have provided the information;
b) verifying your identity under informed purpose and/or at requested by
applicable laws;
c) processing payment or purchase transactions;
d) tracking user movements, analyzing trends, detecting usage
patterns, administering Zipped News Platform, gathering broad demographic
information for aggregate use of the Services to improve, perfect our provision
of Services and/or better user experience;
e) troubleshooting crashes associated with specific hardware and software used
to access or any technical indicents relating to or connect with Zipped News
Platform and/or Services;
f) sending you marketing information about the Services on behalf of ourselves
and through our sponsors or other third-party service providers, including
notifying you of advertisements, marketing events, initiatives and other
promotions;
g) complying with any applicable laws, regulations, codes of practice,
guidelines, or rules, or to assist in law enforcement and investigations
conducted by any governmental and/or regulatory authority;
h) responding to, handling, and processing queries, requests, applications,
complaints, and feedback from you;
i) transmitting to any unaffiliated third parties including our third party
service providers and agents, and relevant governmental and/or regulatory
authorities, whether in Singapore or abroad, for the aforementioned purposes;
and
j) any other incidental business purposes related to or in connection with the
above.
3.4 The purposes listed in the above clause may continue to apply even
in situations where your relationship with us (for example, pursuant to a legal
instrument) has been terminated or altered in any way, for a reasonable period
thereafter (including, where applicable, a period to enable us to enforce our rights
under any legal agreement with you).
3.5 We process Personal data for the duration that is necessary for the
respective purposes as mentioned in Clause 3.3 above. Where longer storage arises due to
legal obligations the processing of Personal data is limited accordingly.
